compared to your usual sized pipes think the size of them bowls you would need quite a bit of tobacco to fill them up
but woulden't have the time to smoke a whole bowl full.
Do you fill yours up according to the time you have.
The way I look at it is if the bowl of the pipe is say 2 inches tall and the pipe is usualy packed at say 1 and half inches
the cake will build at 1 and half inches up the bowl the other half inch will be smooth.
Any chance of a photo of your Sherlock pipe.

Do you smoke different tobacco's in that particular pipe or always the same tobacco as not to get different tastes from different tobacco's.
