Met a BotL today and swapped some leaf. I came away with a selection of aged pipe tobacco. The tins are dated 2004 and 2005. Looking forward to popping one & sampling it.

Very nice!! Think there will be much difference with 10+ years on it?

Cheers, I really don't know. If cigars are a guide then yes. With sealed tins and the processes the tobacco goes through it might be dramatic. I'll post about it [emoji1417]

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!
If you had to choose one shape in the Peterson pipe range which would you go for
gun is loaded but the shape is the problem for not pulling the trigger.

I would go for a Sherlock Holmes Professor in a smooth finish. It's my regular 'go to' pipe, and it has always been my favourite.

I'd go for the Le Strade now I've got the original Sherlock Holmes calabash. Or one of the XL pipes.

What an adventure mate. Excellent grabs It will be interesting to hear what you think of some of these, regardless of age

Funny you should mention the Sherlock holmes range sludgie been looking at them for a while now but seem realy big pipes
compared to your usual sized pipes think the size of them bowls you would need quite a bit of tobacco to fill them up
but woulden't have the time to smoke a whole bowl full.
Do you fill yours up according to the time you have.
The way I look at it is if the bowl of the pipe is say 2 inches tall and the pipe is usualy packed at say 1 and half inches
the cake will build at 1 and half inches up the bowl the other half inch will be smooth.
Any chance of a photo of your Sherlock pipe.
