The reason why I want to get into pipes is because I think in the long run it will be cheaper than cigars. A good tin of tobacco costs the same as a Boli Royal Corona however unlike with cigars you get many smokes out of the tin so I suppose in the long run once you've got your pipe you will begin to start saving money back.
Although cigars will always be my first love, you can't beat the journey a good stick gives you

Good idea, you can definitely smoke cheaper as things stand. I agree about the best cigars taking you on a journey..... But pipes hold their own against cigars for me as they offer something different.

I thought the same, so went ahead and bought a corn cob and a wooden pipe, don't know what type of wood, but it smokes okay. I also got a few samples to try and have found some interesting flavours, even went to vtgs store and ordered a couple of packs.
