New pipe

Smoking a new but very cheap biar pipe and getting heaps more flavour than the cob. Has my tobacco aged or is this usual?

Generally a cob will give you the pure taste of the tobacco , a briar will absorb the tobacco so usually a smoker won't mix aromatics with say an English in the same briar . Is it new or an old estate pipe mate

Cheap as chips brand new one off GQ, arrived this morning

Enjoy mate , don't load it up straight away , you've got to slowly break a briar pipe in and build up some cake

while your here can I ask you about pipe smoking in public. Do you take your tamper with you? Did old men sit in the pub using one years ago? I am pretty sure I had neither seen nor heard of them prior to buying a pipe

Yeah can't smoke a pipe without your tamper , my granddad always had his knife with him , never over tamp or use too much force but the tamp is the secret to keeping your pipe alight .
