Gents, with this it seems kilner are the way forward. I'm not talking for pipe baccy, more for storage of Tubos, does anyone use the push lid Tubos or is everyone talking about the clip lock, the push lids seem wider and would fit better. I currently have them in ikea jars but after advice from Wigan I thought I better upgrade.

I couldn't see the image at the beginning of this thread but have just transferred my 965 into clip lock kilner jars like the image below which are kept in a dark cool filing cabinet draw so I just wanted to check that I'm doing the right thing here with regards to storing tobacco for future use?

That'll be fine for current smoking , for longer storage I'd recommend screw top 250 ml killer jars , air tight seals will keep tobacco in tip top condition . I keep my smoking rotation in them and they hold 50 g tin perfectly

Are the clip locks not airtight and how long will it last for in these?

Clip tops aren't as airtight and good old eBay . It'll last years kept in the dark . But what's in jars I'll smoke might take me six months to a year to empty some . But my regular smoke , 965, nightcap , deluxe navy rolls , Germain's special latakia and rich dark flake , warrior, mcquaid and 3ps I have full tins of all in storage to replenish jars . Best way to store and age is in an unopened tin

As long as you can really , try local old fashioned tobacconist they may have some old tins lurking about . problem with pipe tobacco is the fact it gets discontinued . Once the seals been cracked on a tin store in a jar for long term .

No nothing , you'll get a feel for the right moisture , generally in my experience dunhill, Germain's come spot on in the tin and I jar them straight away , some can come a little wet so I'll leave them in the tin for a bit to dry out . Sealed in the jar kept in a cupboard they'll keep fine.
