I picked up a 50g tin of Rattray's Red Rapparee yesterday. As I got it out of the shop I noticed a ring of dust under the lip (the rest of the tin had been wiped clean) and wondered whether it must have a bit of age on it. Popped the cap...

Stained paper insert and the waxed inner was all tainted too

Smelled divine, (tangy, saucy) and a few strands of the black cavendish had teeny little white crystalline spots on them. I suspect this is a few years old already[emoji4] Had a bowl yesterday and it's mighty fine[emoji5]️

Try Durbar Tucky. Very reminiscent, but slightly toned down. There'll be some reviews out there

I find early morning pipe to be a (very) toned down, more all day sibling of Nightcap.

Durbar is on my list though.

With recent talk about the Balkan Sobranie wetting my appetite, I'd come across the Vintage Syrian on the 'net a few weeks ago. Tbh, I forgot all about it until spotting it in the flesh. Did I need two more tins? Did I buggery, but it's damn hard to not to. TAD: tobacco acquisition disorder methinks[emoji15][emoji1]
