  • Just got home to find mine has arrived smells lovely and will be my first flake.
tried the Lord Methley s and it was nice enough but not wow, however I suspect it needed longer to air before smoking so will give it another couple of bowls before righting it off.

                    • The best and simplest way Wigan to start with flake is to take your flake and rub together in your hands with a cupped Palm so it doesn't compact it too much , when it's rubbed out take your pipe bowl and gently swirl the bowl over the rubbed flake in your Palm gathering the tobacco into the pipe . You will end up with a loosely packed pipe ready to smoke

Perhaps that should have been the butter

                                Thanks Tucky
It's a Weber Meerschaum lined 'English Para' I bought it as a lightly used estate off a guy in the states. It's a medium bowl and one of my favourites. If I want an unadulterated taste of a new tobacco, to get a feel for it, I generally take it fora trial run out in the Weber. I guess the same goes for older stock/tobaccos too
