GQ Blends - Classic Balkan. More delicate flavours again. Liked the sweetness of the English Classic and keep comparing them to it

Well take what you want from it and leave the shit behind you don't want, my grandfather used to pack a pipe very similar to that method , in the end pipes are the oldest form of smoking tobacco and jet lighters the most modern method of lighting one

I used the packing method just wasn't risking my best pipe with a torch. Sat enjoying a bowl of dunhill nightcap with a nice cup of tea.

Just sparked up a bowl of Rattray's Red Rapparee. I shan't finish it in one go, due to stuff to do/other priorities, but I'm liking it Needs some drying time out of the tin as recommended in most reviews I've peeked at.

Ok so finishing off the bowl of GQ Blends - Classic Balkan I started before work. Wasn't sure if it would be ok but seems fine. Gives the bowl worth of GQ blend - Chocolate and vanilla I have out to dry out a bit.

Ironically seeing as what we have been discussing recently, I am watching the last episode in series one of Breaking Bad and they have just sparked up a Cuban cigar and are talking about how the forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest!

Also apply my "must have fire" view on smoking cigars to smoking a pipe and feeling nice and toasty

There are some very different tasting tobaccos to go at. If you were to compare Dunhill Nightcap to Orlik Golden Sliced you would be tell the difference without doubt.
What type of taste do you prefer? Heavy, light, round, bright, sweet, grassy etc. I'm sure there would be a good number of us to recommend a tobacco to suit your taste.

Funny you mention the night cap as ordered some yesterday. I haven't tried any of the flake samples I got as not sure what to do to them yet lol. Ordered a couple of pipes as well, will that change the flavour?

If you have been using a corncob you will most certainly notice a difference. Corncobs are notorious for burning hot, which will destroy many of the subtle flavours.
Depending on how keen your palette is you might be able to pick up the difference in taste from briar to briar.
With the flake, you can roll and stuff, or rub it out. Again, this will influence the taste.

Very strange, I find that Pipe Tobacco varies greatly. Even similar blends taste quite different to me.
