I've decided to try again smoking a pipe, and over Christmas bought a couple of cheap pipes to try with.
Yesterday I tried out a new cheap briar pipe with a bowl of Dunhill Nightcap

and today a bowl of luxury bullseye flake in a new cob.

Of the two I think I preferred the bullseye flake.
Thanks again to those who generously donated some sample for me to try and sorry for not getting round to it sooner!

Had a bowl of Peterson signature flake while walking the dog at lunchtime. Very nice with an almost sweet taste. Watched a couple of YouTube videos over the weekend and think that I may have been packing my pipe too much in the past. Will see how it goes.

BCA is great for cutting/mixing other tobaccos with, add sweetness without altering flavour. A good filler. McClelland dark star is similar, I think they?ve recently stopped making pipe tobacco.

Another pipeful of American Cherry and Vanilla in a Savinelli Dolomiti - nice tobacco, but not what I would call an everyday smoke. Anyone recommend a good mild everyday tobacco - I like aromatics now and again but probably prefer regular tobacco with some sweetness in my smokes
