Yes, I'd have to agree with you there Marc on the three or four I've got. Nice cut, and always smoke down to a fine ash. IMO, whilst smoking great ROTT, they benefit from a week or two out of the tin in a mason jar, shaken and opened up once or twice to air and meld (that word again) the flavours. In my limited experience, this brings them all out and together a bit
Just having a small bowl of Pease's Jackknife Plug. The tin note is mental: rich but tangy, spicy and pungtastic. Maybe a little too so? You couldn't bury your nose in there all day for sure. The smoke is like a friggin' bbq'd meat feast with all the sauce you want. Well, I'm not sure that conjures up an accurate reflection in how this strong smoke goes, but it came to mind and I'm sticking with it A decent dose of vitamin N too.
Haha. I've reached for the Talisker and now I've finished the bowl I'm going to be peeling spuds and prepping roast veg. Not quite the same, but the finish from the jackknife is still with me. Next time we meet up Marc, I'll bring a few slices for you
A day late posting, but the players were: Dunhill Durbar, one of Wallenstein's Jolly Rogers and a drop of Laphroaig. Posed indoors before popping out back. All good[emoji106] ImageUploadedByTapatalk1419845933.293339.jpg
Yum, I've read and watched a few reviews, but I'm always tempted elsewhere by offers when I think of grabbing some. I've not had it yet and tbh, my whisky experience is narrow due to funds (read children) I top off at about ?35 which doesn't leave much room to manoeuvre
Picked up a tin of dunhill nightcap today. Just finished my first bowl and I'm quietly impressed. Not as powerful as I feared,a lovely relaxing evening smoke.

A nice smoke indeed. I think a few of these tobaccos give the impression that they're going to blow your socks off, so it's nice to be surprised that's not the case.
Try the Durbar sometime. Similar but different Perhaps a more daytime smoke along the same lines.
