Well they are usually the ones who started the name!(with the exception of Cohiba). When the Cuban tobacco industry was nationalized most of the originators of RyJ, Uppmann, Partagas, etc left Cuba to carry on their business elsewhere.

As for the Honduran RyJs they are good but different to the Cuban counterpart since they use different tobaccos. More full and spicy. Also check out the Dominican 1875 blend that is more medium in body and strength.

I tried an Honduran RyJ when I was in Colorado back in 2008. I remember it being a very nice - good flavours and nice construction. It also burned remarkably well given the altitude... Not sure exactly which one it was though...

Though I've not yet tried a RyJ Habana Reserve I've read that a lot of them have burn and construction issues.
I'm a fan of smaller perfectos and was looking into the RyJ HR Perfecto a month or two back but eventually decided not to pull the trigger on a box based on all of the burn/construction issues I'd read about. I am, however, planning on picking up a couple singles next time I head down to my local B&M since my tastes usually follow the equation below ...
