I just had my first Arturo Fuente, a Don Carlos #2 that was a birthday present from a friend, and not a cheap one, I might add. It had been sitting in my tupperdor for a good amount of time, and every time I thought of trying it, I thought more highly of a Cuban I knew than an Arturo I'd barely met. My mistake.
This thing was damn good from beginning to end; it had that certain tanginess that good Cubans often have, and a nice pepperiness that increased all the way to the end. The burn was perfect, and the ash thick and solid such that I don't think I needed to remove it, although I did.
Now the price point is a bit steep, in the Cohiba range, so I don't know if it'll be box-worthy until my funds go up or I just give up on caring about the credit card statement (or my wife's berating me until she sees fit to buy a new pair of shoes for herself), but I was curious about people's views on the line. I haven't had a Hemingway, and I hear good things. Any hands- or, so to speak, mouths-on experience with these?
In any case, I'd say those with a penchant towards the Cuban-only point of view, which was me for a while, ought to take a stab at these sticks.
