Given the vast range of NC's can some wise afficionardo's out there recommend some must try sticks? I've stuck to CC so far and would like to widen the field as it were.
I have had a couple of CG4s and it is definitely stronger than the Epernay, but the Epernay is probably the most elegant cigar cigar I have smoked, Cubans included.
It is a medium smoke and contains no Ligero whatsoever, but the aroma is incredible for me: cocoa, honey and roses are the main flavors I get plus loads of other notes and they all work together, and very sharp and clean which is what I mea with elegant. Not to mention construction, which is impressive as for the CG4 too.
If you like your cigars powerful, this probably will leave you cold, but I could smoke Epernay all the time
Talking of elegance - it's a quality Davidoffs have in spades, but they rarely get mentioned on here. For me, the cigar-smoking experience doesn't always have to be all about taste.
Davidoff are one of the few, if not only NC brand I've come across so far that I would ever choose over a CC & in fact did so for my parent's diamond wedding anniversary lunch @ Cliveden a few years back (& occasions don't get much more special than that).
here would be my list :
Illusione Epernay
la Riqueza (Tatuaje)
Opus X (imho the best NC out there, but a tad expensive)
edit: yes and Oliva V
also Hemingway Short Story
Have a look at the Chinchalero range. They're such good value that if you like one it's a bonus.
Just what I was going to suggest. I've only tried the Esportivos, but for me they're a great 'everyday' smoke. Got a few different ones sat in my humi waiting too.
For me it would be mostly smaller gauge NC's. the Illusione Epernay Monde Le Petite and Le Elegance would suit. Padron Series Londres I'm already after, and as Eugene say's Davidoff are pretty much up there when it comes to great cigars.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
