I’m not sure to be honest, I’ve never had a bone dry box and experimented with it. I would think a month should be plenty of time but this is guesswork. I feel some science coming on.

I was looking for a divinities answer in this recently and I read a comment from another forum by someone who suggested a scientist background. They said that as a rule of thumb, it takes a week for a cigar to raise or lower 1% RH so if it?s 69 and you like 62, it would take 7 weeks to get there?

I?ve nothing to base that logic on but seems reasonable?

Agreed! That seems logical, although it?s interesting if you look at the math compared to seasoning humidors.. 2 - 4 days? Cant be.... think the cedar being much denser than a stick, would take a lot longer fir moisture to penetrate fully?

I?m not sure that the case? I believe some of the others mention concrete/substrate penetration but I think that must mean the current rather than the probes?

Not like the guy on the '24 hours in A&E' programme MLW likes who fainted whilst smoking a Cuban cigar at a barbecue. I came in at the end of the episode so didn't find out what he was smoking.

I think I got a shite box, have had 2 good of 10. Now I just smoke em when there are no feks given...In fact I don?t get angry anymore when they go South, I almost expect it [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Don?t cigars real with losing humidity faster a lot better than gaining it? I?m sure I read that somewhere that it was something like a difference of a factor of 4 but I have no idea why.

Hopefully they?re not too dry that they can?t make a decent recovery.

I ran one under the tap prior to cutting and smoking recently, it smoked as well as you could hope for although without a control I don’t know if it helped. Theres some theories on this though.
