Are NC's Value for money?

Hi Niela, I think I'm of the same view as yourself. I would like to find some NC's that are decent smokes in their own right (they don't have to be similar to CC's), but have an issue with the cost when compared to cubans, and also the difficulty sorting the wheat fom the chaff.
I currently favour light to medium flavour smokes, RyJ Chuchill, Short Churchill, ELDM Choix Supreme, my favourite vitola being the churchill. If you can recommend a mild to medium smoke in the churchill vitola or similar that would be great.

If you can still get some, try the Oliva Master Blend 3 as a Churchill. Medium bodied with nice notes of dried fruit.

Diamond Crown are really nice mild cigars, though a bit more pricy.

Julius caesar and maximus churchill are great medium body. Wasnt so fond of the standard diamond crown line.

Fuente have some great medium stuff. Some call the opus strong but to me it is nowhere near the strength of a bolivar for example. But the standard fuente range are very good and definitely medium or under.

Thinking about it it i do tend to have more full bodied ncs but then i do the same with cubans anyway. Im sure there are plenty of milder options out there.

There are some excellent NCs out there - Oliva and Opus X spring to mind, and are certainly worth the money. I virtually exclusively smoke CC, but broadened my horizons while in the Dominican Republic last year and had some really good, and really bad, NCs

The issue is going through all of them to find the good ones!

Cubist you have nothing to lose by trying. I smoke and enjoy both NC and CC I would recommend Fuentes, Oliva, My Father and Liga P. Some of these are not cheaper but they offer different profiles to Cubans

Also try My father. I have a MY Father no 2 with me whenever I'm smoking, as a back up cigar. It never fails.
the thing with NCs is they have something which Cuba is yet to grasp the concept of - Quality Control.
I have never, ever ditched a non cuban due to a quality problem. However, I have lost many Cubans to quality failure.
Fuente Hemingway Signature. Chateau Fuente. My Father Centurion. Drew Estate American Classic. CAO La Traviata. CAO Gold. Oliva G anything.
KFC Fat Molly (for a totally different experience!). Rocky Patel Vintage 1990. Hell, even the Rocky Patel Cargo (Churchill).
The world of NCs is awesome. And there's something for you in there somewhere.
I look at cigars the same way I look at alcoholic drinks - I like whisky, wine and beer - and sometimes I'm in the mood for different types - it's the same with cigars. NCs just expand the options available to you.
