I got these cigars from a friend of mine who went to Nicaragua. Never heard of them, but from what I read, they will be strong.

When I moved them to my humidor, I noticed that the cellophane is quite yellow from the cigar.

I have only ever seen that with old cigars. As I have no clue how old these are, could this discolouration come from the wrapper giving of something they used to make it maduro or do these actually have some age on them?

Nah doubt it. Yellow cello is a thing. I had some singles in it from a B&M in Santa Barbara before. I can't remember what cigar it was now though.

I bought some NCs off someone selling up a couole years ago. The cello ones were about 4 years old or a bit more and the Cello looked just like that.

You doubt it is old? You can see the cellophane being bright on top. Yellow only comes where the cigar touched it. The opening of the cellophane is bright clear.

If you say it's from age I believe you. I've purchased a cigar in yellow cellophane that was not aged.

Well, that is the question. My friend bought them in a shop, recommended by the owner. Could be that they have a few years on them, could be not. That's my question, what's your guess?

PS: reviews of the cigar don't promise much. Strong Nicaragua pepper... 😊

I don't think it'd take years to yellow cellophane on a cigar. As said some cello is already coloured, so is some tobacco which could affect the wrapping as you suggested. If it's from a smokey environment that'd discolour the cellophane, like an old pub ceiling.

Can you ask the supplier for info. on them?

That was just the launch of the lancero format. I found a review of the torpedo from 2012. So the line exists for longer.

Can't wait to try one... Maybe I got lucky and got one with a bit of age on it... 😀

I tried it yesterday... The Band looked quite aged/stained as well. The flavour started of a bit strange, not very tasty, dry peppery. But after the first inch it really picked up and I have to say this was the first pepper flavours I really enjoyed. It was more like a juicy green pepper note with lots of sweet and savoury notes mixes in. Also had a nice change of flavour throughout the duration of the cigar.

I'll write a review when the weather gets a bit better... 😊

That's the thing. It wasn't that typical pepper flavour. It was much milder and more rounded than what I usually got from Nicaragua pepper sticks...
