• Davidoff Nicaragua / Davidoff Recommendations?

I'm yet to have a Davidoff cigar but have spent some time reading about them. Renowned for their superb build quality and smoothness I'm tempted to give them a try. I've read some good things about the Nicaragua line, the Diadema and the short coronas though cj121 gave a good review on the former and didn't find it to his liking.
Has anyone else tried this line and would recommend them or would anyone else recommend any of the other Davidoff line to someone who's looking to see what all the fuss is about but without maybe spending Year of the Snake money - ?33?

I have never tried them either so would be interested if the hype is warranted relative to the price

Hey Rob, I've enjoyed the Grand Cru No.3 if that's any help? Re the Nicaragua, I am biased towards CCs, so perhaps my view on it was biased too

I've heard the Millenium blend is the best but I've yet to try them, it's on my wishlist though

That's another one I've heard good things about. The Nicaragua came very high on a blog I follow and I like the guy's taste profile, it seems quite similar to mine.

Yep, another stick I've read about which seems to get a heck of a lot of really good reviews.

Are davidoff balanced against cost to smoking quality... ?

Are they really worth what you get ?

Worth it if you want something extra special imo.
I've always enjoyed a 1000 or 2000 as I find them well priced.
In fact whenever I go to central London this is what I choose in Davidoff, then smoke in st James park.

I had a Nicaragua Toro a while ago (it was No.3 in the Cigar Aficionado Top 25 for 2013). I was a bit let down, but perhaps more because there's so much hype about Davidoff cigars I expected something really special. In fact, just found my notes and in 3 words for 3 thirds it was 'outstanding / cack / nice'!

I'm not a fan of the standard line, but the Nicaragua Toro is superb. Probably my favourite NC along with the Flur De Las Antilas.

This is a good thread, I've been meaning to get some Davidoff's to try and I now have a shopping list. Thank you

I've ha a couple of their cheaper smokes and found them underwhelming and not great. It's put me off trying one of their bigger cigars now given the price
