Actual... it's biochemistry . Not many people know this.
In fact, thanks to Bear Grills Bears, people still think urine is sterile.
There are a group of people who advocate drinking your urine in the morning , I understand there reasons but a nice strong cup of tea can't be beaten especially by a glass of warm piss lol
I never drink my first piss of the day, it's less sterile and more toxic. Demonic howls shoot from the tip of the penis when it comes out. No I tend to wait until I've had a few sherbets, that way the alcohol kills the dark matter and gives a little something back. Worth remembering in a survival situation guys.

Fresh urine doesn't smell of ammonia so Marc is right there, think I can safely say I have handled more piss bottles than anyone else on this site & did my time as 'Sluice Room Tech the RN. In a healthy person urine when it leaves the kidney must be 'sterile' but can pick up bacteria in the bladder but most likely in the urethra. When you have taken a few hundred scrapping of the inside the meatus of weeping sailors, then you know this is not a clean area. They had stopped using the old umbrella treatment by the time I got to do this but a plastic probe with a ring at the end is used to collect lining cells & pus ect. Smeared onto a slide & suitably stained, you'd be surprised, just how much gram neg & pos bacterial you can find. Gram neg diploccoci being a fav of mine, quick & simple one dose treatment. You still have a discharge but no legally identifiable STC. Professionals will be back on the game within 12hrs!

But seriously - urine being sterile was commonly the myth because urine-specific bacteria could not be grown in a lab dish - specifically C. Dificile (the bacteria that is ravaging hospitals nowadays). C. Dificile is an intestinal bacterial that is called such because it is hard to grow and just so happens to be difficult to kill.
Just because we can't find a method to grow certain bacteria and trace it DOES NOT MEAN that a certain surface is sterile. Don't go around drinking urine or washing people's lacerations with your urine. Not only does it contain a lot of bacteria but its a great condition for bacteria to multiple rapidly.
There is a popular custom of gargling with it in the morning. Meant to be good for your health. They go for MSU (mid-stream urine) So basically start pissing then put the cup under but remove before you finish then gargle. Did I mention its in Germany this is popular? Did I need to......

Harrumph! Okay...okay, enough of the NC bashing. Clearly some of you have little experience with NCs or you wouldn't make such broad, sweeping comments.
In fact, NC are properly aged (beyond sick period), unlike puros, BEFORE they are offered for sale. So if you are smelling amonia when when you sniff an NC, I suggest you check elsewhere for the sorce of the odor.
