  • Alternate to Cohiba Robusto

Haven't smoked cigars in years but whilst on holiday in Cuba was partial to a Cohiba Robusto. These are far too expensive in the UK so could someone recommend a similar tasting robusto?

    Thanks.

Nothing tastes like a CoRo buddy but as you're here in the NC threads have you tried an Alec Bradley Prensado or their Black Market range. The prices are a bit more reasonable and they're available in the UK.

Haven't tried any new world cigars, just assumed they'd be slightly cheaper or better than the well known Cuban brands?

They taste different and soon someone will be along to tell you that Cubans are better, keep an open mind and try a few.

Thanks, have just ordered some from C.Gars Ltd to try as I've seen them mentioned here a few times.

Agreed that nothing's going to taste like a CoRo outside of the Cohiba range IMO..... Well nothing I have tried.

What flavours do you apreciate in the CoRo?

All the Cuban Robusto have individual taste profiles by intention. If Robusto is your preferred size, then the best thing might be to work through the one at a time until you find one you really like.

Alternatively, all of the Robustos will have been reviewed on here, but this by Yiorgos is continuous and complete.

If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

(I don't actually believe this all the time, but I didn't want peejay to be disappointed!)

Thanks for that link tippexx. I have just read the full thread. A great read and I do fancy trying some of them.
I was just wondering why the Trinidad Robusto T would be discontinued if it was such a popular cigar?

Best ask TJ, he's more into Conspiracy Theory and Cosmic Astrology than I am ... although it has been rumoured Habanos are sometimes in league with Satan!

Alternate to the Cohiba Robusto might actually be the Vegueros Petit Robusto after 3-5 years of age. Right now they're harsh little bastards to deal with but that just equtes to a good ageing formula IMO.

I mean... The Veggies Especiales 1&2 from 1999 tastes like Cohiba Lanceros from 2005/2007.
I love those old skinny Vegueros.
