Budget smokes for humi filling

However, we may have different approaches to cigars. I would rather forego the occasional cigar, and have a humi which is half full of really nice sticks, rather than have one filled to the brim with stuff which is best described as 'passable'.

Well put, senor Simon. I never understood comments like, "it's a good stick to smoke while mowing the lawn," or other distracting duties.

Enjoying a fine puros or cigar is meant to be a special moment, to be savored to the fullest. For me, that's finding a quite moment when I can focus on the stick. Sometimes with a book, other times with a beverage...but never, ever while performing distracting duties.

IMO, occupying your time with a so-so stick is a waste of time. As me pappy, Pappy Coro used to say about wine, women, and cigars: "Always put quality over quanity, mi hijo"

Not exactly "complex" but for the money they really are excellent, quite sweet with a really loose draw & surprisingly faint smoke.

I reckon 6 months sitting in the humi will improve them considerably.

Good points raised, but in terms of the OP, I'm inclined to add the Alec Bradley 'Spirit of Cuba'. Cheap as chips and, whilst not having had any for a couple of years, I remember being impressed. Mind you, blends (and palates) change.

Without looking around, sadly not. I got the dozen or so from two previous members on here. However, Alec Bradley is sold in the UK, so if you find a stockist, you could ask them. If you do get lucky, the only issue I'd foresee would be UK pricing as tobacco is, as you'll likely know, taxed/dutied by weight. This might bump the price up into another bracket. With the price I paid back then, I suspect the chaps purchased them whilst in the US. They were about ?3 each

They are still fairly expensive in the USA. I think I paid about $10 when I was over there for one!

Anothersuggestion is searching out some of the sites that offer ?sampledeals?. These have popped up more recently and sometimes you canget a box of mixed cigars with a decent range of cigars for a reallygood price. Make sure the shipping makes sense too.
