I recently began looking for a few NCs that I could smoke in order to spare my dwindling inventory of fine puros. (Back story: when I recently returned to SOM, MX., I noticed that el Perro and the rest of the Coro Clan had liberated many of the finest puros from my massive unit without replacement.)
So I decided to give the popular NUB/Cain line of sticks another go after my first attempt when they arrived on the scene a few years ago. From past experience, I remember the Cain-NUB Habano being quite exceptional. So I picked up a few 460 NUBs (4" X 60) with the Habano and Connecticut wrappers and a few Cain Robustos (5.7" X 50) with the Habano wrapper. On the first go around, the Habano wrapper NUB and Cain were not as good as I remembered, but the NUB with the Connecticut wrapper (which is a milder and smoother) was a decent stick - box-worthy, you might say.
Today I picked up another Cain Habano Robusto and the experience was quite different from the night before. Apparently, a cigar of this strength needs to be enjoyed slowly (mine took 1 hour and 45 minutes) with a fine compliment, such as a Captain Morgan Rum and Coke. Both the Cain and the Cain F are 100% triple-fermented ligero and consider to be full-bodied. I guess it's like they say....you can't judge a book by it's cover, nor a cigar by a single stick.
Now I'm thinking about picking up a box of the 460 NUB Connecticut wrapper and the Cain Robusto Habano. I have not tired the Cain F Robusto yet, but will likely take care of that later tonight. Supposedly, the Cain F "has a bit more power" than the other Cain sticks.
Anyone else have experience with the NUB and/or Cain sticks.
Names Coro, TJ Coro, and I'll be doing the posting for the time being while the rest of the Coros continue stumbling about on their definitive journey through the dark sea of awareness as they attempt to navigate their way back home.
