  • Davidoff Special R Robusto

I loved this cigar, to my mind was a great stick, very amoratic (almost floral) or smelly but a nice one for cigar lovers. Smoke was creamy and mild but built up to a nice spicy finish but wasnt overpowering wanted to smoke it to the nub.

Construction was lovely very smooth and nice milk chocolate wrapper, draw was easy but not so much that it felt like a sodding straw as you have in some cases.

Its a lovely cigar not sure its worth the GBP as I have had great cigars for less, none the less I have said at some point I shall buy a box or at least a bakers dozen as I do find myself wanting to try and repeat the performance.

Nice precis. Rather similar to my thoughts on this cigar - pleasant and smooth (my notes suggest a milky cappuccino profile), but nothing terribly exciting, and a little overpriced compared to other options on the market.

Personally I really love this cigar, definitely the best Davidoff I've smoked. Like has already been said...if only they were cheaper!

Hope you chaps don't mind a newcomer commenting. I find the Davidoff range generally overpriced, throughout the sizes. I sometimes wonder if the expense of running a Mayfair shop and others in fashionable parts of other capital cities has to be paid for by loading the retail price of the product. I stopped smoking non-Cuban cigars about six years ago in favour of Robusto Cuban types - Cohiba in particular but not always.

Not sure the Davidiff shop (St James's not Mayfair unless their is a shop I don't know of?) have much to do with the Davidoff brand ...could be wrong.
