I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

I picked up a Brick House Robusto today. They didn't have the short torpedo, but I'm told they're all the same blend.

I also picked up the La Aroma de Cuba, which was cigar aficionados number two cigar last year, just in case the Brickhouse doesn't pan out.

            What say ye se?or Tipp?

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly....Final Chapter!

As you old timers may know, at least those who bother to read my posts, I do not have a sophisticated palate like other fine reviewers on this here fine forum, such as senor Tipp. But I know what I like, so I will attempt to provide a very basic review that hopefully some find useful.

So as I mentioned above, I went out and bought a Brick House Robusto today to see what the fuss was about.

              Nice Ash!
              IMG_1020.jpg

              THE GOOD!

The Brick House Robusto (the stick) was nicely priced ($4.50 US), something I call a "value stick." It burned well with a beautiful, even white ash, something common among some NCs, and continued an even burn throughout. It also had a decent draw which yielded a mouthful of smoke with each draw (get it?)

              THE BAD!

I should have checked the stick before I brought it home The cap cracked as soon as I put a punch to it, and it actually crackled when I rolled the stick between my fingers! From the start, it had an almost overpowering harsh/peppery taste and filled the nose with the same. It mellowed out a bit as the stick wore on and after each purge. But to be honest, I was ready to put it down in the final third, but I soldiered on to give it a fair chance.

              THE UGLY!

The Brick House Robusto is an okay smoke and, since it is an inexpensive stick, I certainly would not hesitate to recommend it to those looking for an "everyday" stick . As we all know, no two BOTL have the exact same taste in cigars, puros, rum and women. That said, I personally would not go out of my way to pick one up again.

              In conclusion
, considering the price, I would say that the Brick House Robusto is a fair value stick and I wouldn't turn one down, if offered. But if it's a value stick you're after, the A. Fuente 858 for around the same price is a much better choice, IMO.

Names Perro, el Perro, and I do the best I can with the weak palat I was born with
              .

Haha! Nice one, el P! Damn you, senor Tipp.....Damn you to Hell!

Then that's my first job. Get one close to TJs pricing .... then review it.

You do realise TJ, that's about 3 quid, I'm not sure there's any cigars sold in the UK for that?

Here you go Tippexx, a hand made cigar for ?2.49:

DISCLAIMER: I've never tried them and they might be revolting, but they do only cost a couple of quid!
If you want a midget to look like a baby, don't put a cigar in his mouth.

No way, not anything bigger than a roll-up anyway!

I *might* be heading to the US in the next few months. If so, I will get a list of stuff people recommend, and I'll happily pick you up a stick or too for all your reviews. Especially if they're $4.50

Just been looking Dean .... strangely the Short Torp and Churchill seem to be sold out mostly everywhere in the US. (Rokkit reviewed the Churchill I think).

Tell's us something I 'spose! If you can find one, yeah, grab it!

Soooooo, inspite of el Perro's damning review, you lads are still on the hunt for this stick, as if the shape (short torpedo) will make all the difference!!!
Oh well, I did my job, now you chaps must go out and do yours....but you can't say I didn't warn you!
