Just got back to my hotel from the biggest herf I have ever attended! Must have been thousands of cigar lovers. New York's Pier 92 was packed. I had to queue for almost an hour to get in! Once inside there were 26 cigar stands plus loads of free rum, whisky and beer. Food was include too so although the ticket was $240, it was actually a spectacle that yielded up the 26 free cigars plus as much food and drink as you could manage.I didn't smoke much as it was simply too smokey and just plain rammed with people - managed just the one Alec Bradley Black Label in the events 3 hour slot between 6 and 9pm.Plenty of highlights though ... I chatted to Rocky Patel, the Fuente family and the Padrons about their cigars and enjoyed meeting lots of other cigar makers. All in all a great evening. I know it's not as big as the Las Vegas event but still Mecca for folks interested in exploring NCs.

Living the dream in the Big Apple, are you going to get to any of the big shops like Nat Sherman and the New York Davidoff store?Nic

My favourite shop in NYC is De laConcha, which I think is owned by Davidoff these days so I will be going there this afternoon. Also nat Sherman and Barclay Rex, opposite Grand Central but this more for the hats than the cigars. Wow this morning my eyes refuse to open - Nic it wasn't hundreds it was thousands of herfing cigar smokers. Sorry don't have pics.

Sounds like it would definitely be an experience!
Im not quite sure how much I would enjoy being surrounded by thousands of others smoking too though. I guess Ive got used to finding ways of enjoying the solitude of smoking, that the idea of smoking with that many people doesnt appeal to me too much.
