Nub...Swings And Roundabouts

I've tried quite a few Nubs, and haven't been disappointed by any of them. Tbh, despite other opinions, i would say they are fairly light, and require next to no attention whatsoever, which can be a good thing. Pretty good flavour, and last a good long time.

have tried 3 different Nubs and each one has been fine for me, not having much in the way of a sense of taste is a bonus i suppose, what really peeves me is paying for Cubans and them being total shit, IE, either to loose or tight on the draw, dreadful burn, of the last 20 smoked about 50% have been like this, but out of the last 20 NC'c maybe 2 have had minor issues. all the sticks have been kept in the same Humi, so it aint the storage, rather pissed at Cuban QC at the moment.

I just ordered a box of Short Stories. Never tried one before so a bit of a gamble but I've seen a lot of good things on this forum. Crossing my fingers

I took the same gamble as you and haven't regretted it. I personally think you'll be happy with them. They are (look away from the screen now my Cuban Purist Brothers) really fantastic smokes. I'm still getting the hang of it all so I won't give you tasting notes, but I find them really tasty, complex and satisfying. I rather suspect you'll have the same smile on your face I had when I lit my first one. Enjoy!

I had a sampler when I first started smoking cigars and enjoyed them, and recently decided to order some connecticut and cameroon sticks to test again now my palet has improved.

found the two connecticut sticks I had to be quite bitter with a very lose draw. didn't like then.

the cameroon in contrast has a very firm draw and didn't give off much smoke, but the flavours were gorgeous.

so yeah, I guess it's a hit and miss thing.

Hmmm

Against the grain, I enjoy them. Admittingly, not because they are the best cigar ever but;

1. like the size
2. like the price
3. like the time it takes to smoke
4. darker skinned ones are better

so, depends on what you're measuring, if it's just flavour, then yes, lots of "better" cigars out there, but as an all round package that deliver what they are aimed at... they tick that box v. well.

The Maduro is a good smoke and I have quite a few customers who like the bigger Sungrown (466). They are not bad for a tenner.

So, the Nub Cameron 460

Wrapper removed - it's v. thin, certainly wouldn't contribute to the flavour profile

Now to remove the binder - reasonably substantial and tightly bound.

Now to remove the filler - this obviously makes up the bulk of this fat little cigar. it's very tightly bunched and well made.

As you can see, there's a heck of a lot of tobacco crammed into this little cigar!

It doesn't have the really big leaves wrapped up as in most cigars, given it's short length but it's certainly not made up of chopped loose ends.

Hope that gives a little insight into a Nub for those that have yet to try one out
