Took delivery of my first fairly decent investment in the new hobby this morning:
3 x RyJ Short Churchill
3 x HDM Petit Robusto
5 x Trinidad Reyes
and a Siglo I that was thrown in for free!
Not quite a box but I am very pleased.
I did have one thing you might be able to help me with though, the Reyes appear to have what could be plume on them? I don't know the date they were made as it didn't say on the 5 pack, but I am assuming that they are fairly young, I thought plume was more likely to occur on older cigars? I took a couple of photos. Its really only a couple of spots up by the cap end, the foot is fine, either way I will definitely be smoking them, would just like to know what to look out for. I have kept the 3 Trini that have the plume/mould on them out of the Humi for the moment.
A very modest collection at the moment, but I am sure it will be getting bigger at the end of each month. The 2 NC's were kindly donated by sbthang, looking forward to having a taste as soon as I can get out in the garden without getting wet.
(for the eagle eyed among you, the Hygro is reading 2% under according to the salt test and i've also had it open a little longer than I should have this morning)

Looks like a touch of mould to me. Personally, as it's quite minimal I'd just brush it off (with something DRY) and put them in your humi. Keep a close eye (daily) for a few weeks though.
Nice choices btw!

[EDIT] Bloom is usually consistently spread over the whole cigar and more crystalline. Mould is generally fluffier and localised.

I agree that this is definately mould, you can tell as it has a 'furry' appearence, bloom is more powdery.

As the other guys say its nought to woory about, just brush it off with a dry cloth ( or I just use my fingers to be honest ) and keep an eye on them. 'White' mould like this is relatively harmless and only occurs anytime the humidity exceeds around 75, so perhaps they werent stored well? As soon as you get them in the humi it will prevent it coming back. Its the blue / green mould you need to worry about.

Don't worry about the mould, I use one of those powder brushes that women put their rouge on with to brush down cigars with mould. I think aslong as it isn't on the foot you're fine. I hope you enjoy the cigars.

Cheers fellas. Brushed it off with the finger, no marks left on the stick so all good. Treated myself and a friend to the Hoyo Petit Robusto, enjoyed it very much, couldn't really tell the flavours I was getting as I was a little worse for wear at the time.

Just a bit of surface mould Pleeve. Brush off with a dry tissue or brush in future (I use a double ended, usually used for photo-copiers type) not fingers, especially if you're going to be touching your other smokes.
