After doing an overhaul on my humidor I seperated my cigars and decided to fill my humidor with only one brand at a time since more than one type of cigar in the humidor reduces the overall quality of all cigars for me atleast. So I've found that I enjoy the petit corona vitola over others and thought I'd try out some PC's then decide which to stock my humidor with.

So far the Partagas short is probably my favourite just above the Reyes but I felt I couldn't make a decision until I'd tried a RASCC after reading all the positive reviews. So here they are,

Hi Agricola, Great choice of smaller cigar, this is one of the best small cigars IMHO. I understand you wanting to seperate your stix but as your collection grows; I would suggest that keeping one brand in your humi will be segregation enough. I am sure a dozen RASS & a couple of RAG's (for the annual BBQ) would help fill the humi & make it easier to control the humidity. I had a Monte Humi for some time & had No $'s some E,.L.s & a couple of Monte A's in there quite happily.

There looks to be an awful lot of beads there for 25 small stix. Have you seasoned the Humi well first? It should hold the level of humidity you want steadily before the sitx are added. I would expect a fraction of those beads should be sufficent.

The humidity holds at 63-65% but you can never have too many beads only too few! I've got more beads on the way to put in the lower section, I know it's overkill but I've become an RH nazi plain and simple. It's shocking how the most amazing smoking experience in the world can quickly taste like either smoking a pharoh's sock or Nadal's sock after a long tennis match depending on the humidity!

I assume there 65% beads then? I was worried you might be over 70%. I guess the only problem is htat your not leaving enough space for cigars! That looks like a 100+ humi, stick 75+ in there & save the rest of the beads for Humi No2

Would the original box not fit inside that humi? That would keep the flavours nice & sealed in. The more air one has floating around, the harder it is to maintain RH.

You guys are correct and I wish I could afford to fill it up right now with 100 RASCC but it's a matter of finances. The beads are 65%, I reckon that by the time I've filled one up and got it running I could transfer the extra beads to a second humidor ... I shouldn't even be contemplating a new humidor and filling it up

                Excellent choice the RASCC !!

I've always loved that cigar and vitola and consider it to be a perfect example of the Ramon Allones line - chocolate, cocoa, leather, all inside, and perfect after ( or before lunch ) or whenever you have 45 to 60 minutes available and want a perfect Habana cigar with your coffee.

Always have a few boxes of them in my humi.
