  • Some bigger summer sticks

After asking for some advice in the Cigar Discussion forum I plumped for these bad boys as a good "sit out in the garden for a long while" smoke:

    HDM Epicure Especials:

    Monte #2

Looking forward to trying the Monte's, they seem like a firm forum favourite.

well, IMO...... i'm not a big fan of the HDM line!!! i loved the epicure 2 when i first start smoking cigars!! now it just seems light and boring!!! the epicure especial, however is a different beast altogether!!! there's a complexity, strength, richness and flavour the epi 1 & 2 seem to lack......

can't recommend it enough mr fat!!!

        all the best,

        alex

I've smoked an Epicure #2 a few months back and really enjoyed it so hopefully the Especial will fit the bill.

Looks like I wil have to try the other Epis then...

In terms of the HDM line its the petit robusto that normally does it for me, relaiable little sticks they are.

absolutely pal!!! the only thing i don't like about the hdm petite robusto is that it's too short!!! the epi especial ticks all the right boxes for me!!!

........ and without 'thread jacking', you've summed up the monte 2!!! a 'good' one, when you get one, is hard to beat!! i never bothered too much with them due to them being pretty expensive & inconsistent!!! however, due the a recent review of them by the FoH guys, i bought a box of 10 and i've 2 left!!! they've all been fantastic!!! reckon i'll get some more in for the summer & autumn!!!

WOW, just burned an Epicure Especial - blown away by the amount of smoke and depth of flavour, sensational!

Never tried the Especial, but based on that reaction I think it's definitely time! MC no 2 always a noble smoke.

Same for me, loved the HdM 2 and EE when I started smoking, now they're just too mild for me.

Finally got around to trying a Monte #2.

Snipped it using my Cuban Crafters cutter, lit it up and the first quarter was hard work to get a decent draw. I then cut a little more and it opened up some to present a truly stunning smoke.
All in very pleased with both of these packs.
