  • Stocking my first humi

And so the journey continues - from a passing interest to getting some proper cigars in my new humi.

Thanks to those wonderful chaps at Cgars my "introduction to Havanas" pack turned up today. http://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/introducti...er-p-3291.html

Now to decide which one to try................

            Ohhh very nice.

Ye know, if you decide that this thing of ours, aint for you, which for a few folk, it isn't.
I'd be happy to take a few of those off your hands

excellent start superbrother....... all great cigars there!!! the party short and boli corona jnr are absolute staples in my cigar diet, lol!!!! suggestions for your next purchase..... trinidad reyes, montecristo no.5 (i'm surprised it's not in your 'introduction to havanas' sampler) and cohiba maduro secretos!!!! also, to help get your stock up, your local asda, waitrose or off license should have some cuban tubos pretty cheap (asda usually have h upmann corona jnrs & punch coronations for around the ?6 mark, if i'm not mistaken)!!! a couple of my local off license's have montecristo petite tubos (no.4's), bolivar tubos no.3's, romeo y julieta no.2's etc etc all for around the ?10 mark!!! i normally pick these up when out shopping, chuck them in the humi and forget about them!!! they're always a welcome surprise......

              all the best mate,

              alex

Try some bigger ring gauge cigars too as a novice smoker u can really notice the different flavour. Try a Hoyo Robusto

not a bad idea jimmy!!! when i started, i used to buy 2 small cigars (usually monte 5's, trini reyes or cohiba secretos) and a 'big' one every week! romeo y julieta short churchill or hoyo de monterrey epicure 2 was my choice of 'big' cigar, i found robusto's as a size felt 'right' for me.... roll on the partagas d4 and bolivar royal corona!!! lol!!! nowadays, the bigger the better (said the actress to the bishop, lol)!!!

That's a pretty tasty selection you've got there! I can honestly say those are cigars I wish I'd started with, knowing what I know now.
The size gives you a good idea of the characteristic taste without costing a load.

Great choice mate. That's the (almost) same starter pack I got from C.Gars when I started. My first cigar ever was the RG but the one that made me fall in love with cigars was the RyJ in that set.....

...which nicely answers the question of which one to try first - time to get the matches out!

OMFG!!! Just had the RyJ with a decent sized dram of Balvenie. People, you now officially have a cigar convert in your midst. Absolutely top drawer smoke,
                              .
