I've been an off and on smoker of cigarettes for years with the odd cigar thrown in. I used to smoke Royal Jamaican No1 tubed, I purchased a box of 50 when I was working there. When they ran out I purchased some King Edwards in a box of 50 again but this time cellophane wrapped.

For my 40 birthday my wife presented me with a couple of Cubans, she seems to think these are real cigars. I have since purchased a small humi for my presents and seemed silly not to order a couple more while I was there.

But my main question is can I store the King Edwards in the humi after removing the cellophane wrapper? I still have a few to smoke and thought they'd like a new home.

LOL. Keep them in the cello if you prefer it wont do them any harm. Do Cubans and new humi's mind rubbing shoulders wi' King Eddies .... probably not .... if you smoke 'em up quickly!

El Cat on the other hand will insist on a state of total Apartheid, with the Eddies rounded-up and segregated into some blanket drawer somewhere!

I have unwrapped 2 and stored in the humi to see if they improve. Time will tell.

I have tried storing them unwrapped in the humi, not a success they went a bit limp at 70rh, and tasted of nothing very much, I would keep them in the cello but not in the humi.

AFAIK King Edwards are dry cigars - ie meant to be kept & smoked at ambient humidity. I can't really see the point in putting them in a humidor, it might even reduce the flavour and/or longevity of the cigars.

They certainly won't last forever - I had a box of KE Invincibles left over from a holiday (before I got into premiums sticks) & they virtually disintegrated after about 5 years. Might have lasted longer if kept in a humidor, but there's no real point in keeping them that long, I only did because I forgot about them.

Hi Mark, I'd smoke the Eddies first as once you have tried the Cubans, the Eddies will seem tasteless. I (& others) used to enjoy them way back but any I get given by well meaning friends/rel's get passed on unopened these days. They ar enot even up to the roughest Non Cuban standard.

OK. Sounds like good advice. I'm getting a few days work coming in right now to keep the mortgage paid but sill looking for a perm position.

I have a few King Eddies left so it may be a while before I move to proper sticks
