  • A few singles

Inspired by the excellent never-ending short winter smoke reviews (thanks tippexx!), I ordered a few smaller smokes for the cold weather. Normally I go for 'roboooosto' size or bigger, so I'll be interested in how I get on with these.

    From left to right:
    Party Short
    Trini Reyes
    San Cristobal El Principe
    Cohiba Siglo I
    HdM Du Prince
    Sancho Panza Non Plus
    Coh?ba Secretos Maduro 5
    H. Upmann Magnum 48 EL 2009
    Cuaba Generosos
    RyJ Cedros De Luxe No.3

Obviously I have no patience at all and want to smoke them all NOW!!! but I wondered if any of these in particular would do well to be left alone a while before I fire them up?

I know from my own that the Upmann will age well as will the Prince... don't do many smaller sticks though...

Your HdM du Prince has at least 5 years age. Some of the others (excluding the Mag 48) may have similar age .... without the box dates it's difficult to know .... but, never fear 'cos they can all be smoked and enjoyed .... NOW!

If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Thanks! I was unaware of that about the du Prince, but a little studying shows they had no band pre 2005 if I understand correctly. The trouble with buying singles is not knowing ages, but I'm still working my way through as many different cigars as my wallet will allow. So much to learn.......

Something which took me a little while to learn, but is worth passing on.

When you buy singles on-line or otherwise ask the vendor to write (in biro if need be) the box code next to the cigar on the invoice.

Some of my fav short smokes in there. Find a couple you like then try and build up a stash with a little age.

You've made me pick up a party short now
