  • Small Sampler..

I had recently ordered a few sticks to try out some lower priced offerings. I think my humidor needs properly seasoning again. I have a GoveeLife hygrometer in there so monitoring it remotely (I'll make another thread about this). Anyway..

This is what I got last week (the Partagas are there as a size comparison (also currently attempting to restore them after 10+ years in an unmonitored humidor))

    IMG_20240322_220513.jpg

From L to R (apart from the two Party's),

Alec Bradley Project 40 Maduro Robusto
    Mitchellero Robusto
Inka Secret Blend Blue Petit Corona
    Davidoff Winston Churchill Traveller Belicoso

Anyone tried these and have and feedback?

I like the Robusto size, but it's smaller than I remember

Love a sampler! I’ve smoked the Partagas & recall they were very enjoyable. I’ve smoked a Mitchellero & it was better than I was expecting. Hope you like these when you get round to smoking them.

      Nice selection you got there!

      Tried the:
      - Mitchellero Robusto
      - Inka Secret Blend Blue Petit Corona
      - Davidoff Winston Churchill Traveller Belicoso

All good smokes. Mitchellero was a particular standout, packs a good amount of flavour. Good smoke considering the price!

Having not had a cigar in over 10 years I certainly don't have an experienced pallete, but I can tell what I like and what I don't. Actually looking forward to trying these out (I secretly hope the Project 40 is a hit as I can get a mate to get some when he visits his parents in the States for $94 a box) 🤞🏼

Not tired the Project 40. Let us know how it tastes!

It was watching Bradley's review on Zeal Cigars made me want to try them. Sadly I won't be able to thank him for his recommendations after his tragic accident a few weeks back

So my friend recently got back from abroad with my requested sticks (yes, I should've asked him for something FAR better, but funds are extremely tight recently and these worked out roughly £3.50 a stick)

              Anyway, Mr Brownstone Maduro x10

Out of these four, I might reorder the Mitchellero & the Project 40, but the others were not worth it IMO.

Now, do I keep trying to find a decent cheap stick or put the £10/15 towards a better option?

Better to have quality over quantity, I’d rather smoke a special cigar less frequently

Even my experience so far is telling me that. From the 4 bought so far, I might reorder two of them (as long as the prices stay low).

Ive just started another thread that will hopefully be useful (Best Budget Sticks (Under £20)) and will probably do another for under £30. Unfortunately I can't justify spending £40+ on a single stick right now (unless it's an absolute gem)

                        I’d recommend smoke-king.co.uk
you can get plenty of decent sticks under £30, Upmann for Cuban & there’s plenty of non Cuban which are decent as well, EP Carrillo Encore / Pledge, Perdomo, Oliva serie V

I would second Smoke King as well. Good prices and great service. Every so often they do a discount on theit annual free delivery pass which is worth going for.

It there a minimum spend on their annual delivery deal?

Edit: just seen there isn't 👌🏼

I would definitely recommend Smoke King. I got their annual delivery pass for 9.99 when they had an offer on. Good prices and good service. And from Yorkshire (well Otley) to boot.
