Lol. I just started buying again. I really started to get serious about cigars in 2008. Stopped buying in 2014, with the exception of the odd box here and there.

Some boxes I go deep on as I really enjoy them. Some boxes there is a special significance. 2008 was my wedding year. 2000 and 2010 were the birth years of my children.

When I started to build the collection, I took the view that I wanted to have enough cigars to not have to buy when I am retired and to leave the kids something special with their birth year. I also did this with wine.

I typically buy on release. At times, I’ll buy through private sales if I know the provenance is good.

Wow.
My question is do you buy to collect or do you smoke them too?
Old and limited for collection and standard runs for smoking?

I buy with the intent of smoking them. Never been one to sell really. I do the odd trade here and there and do sell occasionally but not in any real frequency.

Oooof, great collection there. Good blog too.

Thank you for the kind words. The blog is fun. I started it as a way to keep track of a Vitola over time. Fun to sometimes look back and compare notes of a cigar from when bought to current to see how it evolves

Very impressive. Especially the Dunhill Montys and RA 898s.

The Dunhill Montes were right place, right time. A cigar shop was closing and the owner was selling his personal collection. I also got a box of 1970s sir winstons that I split with a few friends. Only have 3 of those left. I also picked up a few singles that I’ll post once I inventory check them
