Gone deep on some of those boxes especially if you’ve got them now not on release! Wow

Lol. I just started buying again. I really started to get serious about cigars in 2008. Stopped buying in 2014, with the exception of the odd box here and there.

Some boxes I go deep on as I really enjoy them. Some boxes there is a special significance. 2008 was my wedding year. 2000 and 2010 were the birth years of my children.

When I started to build the collection, I took the view that I wanted to have enough cigars to not have to buy when I am retired and to leave the kids something special with their birth year. I also did this with wine.

I typically buy on release. At times, I’ll buy through private sales if I know the provenance is good.

Old and limited for collection and standard runs for smoking?
I buy with the intent of smoking them. Never been one to sell really. I do the odd trade here and there and do sell occasionally but not in any real frequency.

Thank you for the kind words. The blog is fun. I started it as a way to keep track of a Vitola over time. Fun to sometimes look back and compare notes of a cigar from when bought to current to see how it evolves

The Dunhill Montes were right place, right time. A cigar shop was closing and the owner was selling his personal collection. I also got a box of 1970s sir winstons that I split with a few friends. Only have 3 of those left. I also picked up a few singles that I’ll post once I inventory check them

Nice one for getting those Dantes especially the 109s... Never managed to find any back at the time of release

The Dantes were a priority as I love a 109 vitola. At the time, that was the only 109 vitola available. I smoked the first box was too fast. Luckily, I still have this box and won’t crack it for a few more years

In two years time they'll be too expensive to smoke
They sell for a fortune these days

Lol. Nothing is too expensive to smoke if bought when first released. 🥳
