Any thoughts on the Partagas Series D No. 1?

There are a few of these sticks that have been resting comfortably in TJ's massive humidor for around 4 or 5 years.
I'm thinking of sparking up one this weekend while he's (ahem...) away!

Love 'em. In fact I was standing in front of my humi not more than 5 minutes ago choosing my third cigar of the day and I said to myself out loud "hmm, what shall I choose? .....Something tasty...but not too big........ah,ha!!.... Partagas D4......just the job". Suffice to say that whilst I've been reading the posts on this thread I've toasted and toked that sucker into life. You know what? They taste even better than they look in your pics

I smoked a couple D1s last year, still have 1 left, I thought they were pretty average. D4 is soooo much better!

Yeah, that's good to know. I smoked the PD1 earlier today and thought the same. Kinda' got me off the bug, but you, sir dot, restored my interest in the PD4!

Haha everyone one really LOVES the D4, I want to have one bad now. Just waiting for the right time. I had a bad experience having a cuban right out of the box from when you got them (with my epicure especials) and didn't enjoy it. I had one about a month later and loved them so I will wait for a few weeks and enjoy them properly.

But when I smelt them, BLIMEY , put it this way they are smelling better than anything ever smelt before.
