Well, its taken me a few days to get over the disappointment of saturdays result but the one thing that didn't disappoint was the new Partagas EL that I quaffed greedily during the game. The pre-light aroma was so pungent, like a D4 on steroids!! Smoking the first half of the cigar was an absolute delight with bundles of flavour and copious amounts of rich, thick smoke. The second half was much stronger than the first (unlike England) and got very, very spicy towards the end. All in all a top smoke but I can't wait to see what they're like once they settle down a bit. GET SOME

Great to hear Macker! It sounds like they are a hit. Can't wait to get my hands on some! Thanks for posting your opinion on them.

I have smoked the partagas, and I must say it wasn't all that magnificent. A good decent smoke, typically partagas, but nothing more. No comparison to the Lusitanias if you ask me...

The Epicure, on the other hand, is a very, very good cigar...

Unfortunately, this is what I have been hearing. Possibly, they will improve with some more age on them. Let's hope anyway!

I've now smoked four of the Partagas's and the best one was definitely the first one (how much of that is expectation?). Two of the subsequent sticks had draw issues and the other was a very nice smoke but not quite the aromatic assault of the first. Resolve to not touch any more for quite some time and give 'em a fair chance to take on some maturity.
