Since that review by Daize (http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthread.php?t=5319 ) on the Magnum 48 I had to find out what all the fuss was about, but in the end opted to buy a sampler pack of the 46s and 50s instead. However good things do come to those who wait as I happened to be in luck a week later with Burner's 4x48s offer which I gladly snapped-up.
And then there was this rumour that Cigar Aficionado magazine had awarded the Padron Family Reserve Maduro No 45 cigar of the year for 2009. I had to find out why, but these were only available in boxes of 10 priced at ?340! But again, serendipity emerged with monkey66's offer of selling one of his prized sticks to me.
So here they all are, in a humidor that is starting to look smaller as the weeks go by. For that reason I think it is time to smoke the Alonso Menendez No 40
