GOD NO! The first smoke of the Cohiba Grand Reserva was ruined due to the overpowering smell and taste of cedar wood and glue (which was the stronger influence depends on who you ask). The second Grand Reserva I smoked was much better for being out of the box for some time (at least days, probably weeks). The third was a special supply that had never been in the box, and that rocked! I implore you to store them out of the box, which is very similar to the Grand Reserva box, just less showy.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"
I think they have learned the lesson from the Grand Reserva issue T.
I smelled two boxes last week in the London stores (about as close as I am going to get to a box!!) and I didn't detect anything but glorious "Cohiba honk" (copyright Robusto)
