Aye, buying your first boxers is a great & memorable step, although be warned, all of us with 50+ boxes started there too. Geoffbot is right enough, buying a wide selection of singles & packs of 3 makes sense, until you firm up what your particular tastes are but let's face it, for most a trip to Cuba is once in a life time visit so you have to take advantage. Of course I said that too & we have been three times now & each time I buy like it'll be my last!
P.S. I was looking for boxes of 10 on my last trip too, to get a wider selection of sticks I just don't smoke that often or are too expensive to commit to buying a box of 25 e.g. Sig VI. Annoyingly, I to found them in very short supply & I think the Sig VI was the only one I saw.

when the big stores in Germany would ship they were a strong source of ten boxes for me... I am a big fan. Its a great format through which to build a collection or extend into those high quality occasional sticks

Yes think it'll be back to packs of 3 or singles for a bit now, would quite like to try some NC's too.
Looking back I should have planned my cigar shopping through the trip more, as we were travelling to a few different places I left all my buying til the last few days in Havana, I could have definitely picked up more smaller boxes if I'd bought earlier from some of the smaller shops outside of the centre. Strangely enough there seemed to be a real lack of Cohiba's for sale many places, only found two shops and they only had full cabs of Siglo 1's and VI's which I really couldn't justify sadly.
