How does the epi1 compare to the 2? I've had an epicure 1 I bought at a bar when I was rather drunk abroad. I remember I very much enjoyed it, and it lead to more cigars, and ultimately the start of this hobby... But the Epicure 2 seem to be more popular? At least from what I see people posting on here

I think they are similar, I prefer the Epi 1 but I think that is just because I prefer the Corona Gorda size. A lot of people like Robustos which is why I think they seem more popular.
Few new additions, couple small purchases on the way and then I?m going to try and save for a big splurge when away in October!
Petit no.2?s half of these are being split to help me try to justify some of the spending!
A few singles from trades, really looking forward to trying these

I can recommend the Picadores, sure you'll enjoy those. The Petit No2's are good but personally I can't justify the cost, when the real thing is only a couple of quid more.

As good as answer any any Alex, some will tell you there's a different blend but if there is it's too subtle for me, I think it's just the difference of the vitola & therefore the delivery. I like the No1 for sure but although Robusto is usually as large a RG as I go, the No2 is a classic & just fits that format so well. Burns slower than the No1 & can be enjoyed with coffee soft drinks or a fine Belgian beer. Personally I think spirits can overpower it.

The Petit No2 is a much better, more consistent smoke I find Simon..... It's the real thing for sure Even when only a few months old, the PN2 is amazing.
Ha ha, I wonder who would bite on my bait. Actually the Hoyo Epi No2 was Davidoff's design, created when he was working in Cuba & with the Swiss market in mind. At the time it was a radical move & plenty claimed such short fat cigars would never sell. Later they blamed it for starting the march towards larger & larger RG's becoming popular.
Found this on Cigar.com I think the I read the actual details ref the Epi 2 was in Zino's Autobiography. 'CUBAN CIGARS HOYO DE MONTERREY, CHOSEN BY ZINO DAVIDOFF
Hoyo de Monterrey was founded in 1865. Hoyo was chosen by Zino Davidoffto produce his reputed Ch?teaux series, which, in 1969, was no longer under the Hoyo de Monterrey label but exclusively made for the Davidoff marque. Although it keeps its traditional packaging, this mark has undergone deep changes and set a number of specific quality objectives. Hoyo de Monterey' new generation tobacco leaves are more pliable, with great draw and burn properties.

Lol Simon doesn't make mistakes. He's a true cigar guru.
LOL, you're too kind Sir. I'd say I have been smoking Havana's for over 20yrs & have read a lot of books & learned a lot from other great Havanaphiles on the early internet groups. Whilst the long term memory still does me well the med to short term is fading fast! I am in danger of discovering boxes at the back of the Boli' cave that I can't remember buying!
