First delivery of the year (although I?ve expected other packages sooner than this one!). After really enjoying the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon, I decided to pick up a box of them.

I agree about the Lancero, it?s a top vitola when you have the time.
Apart from asking for each of the southern draw sticks, I gave free reign on the rest and took what was offered as I wanted to explore what was out there so I imagine it?s reflective of market taste preferences. NC?s certainly have much more variety in terms of wrapper colour and I must confess I enjoy a maduro wrapper. If you look at the Padron 1926 Maduro line they are spectacular cigars with very dark wrappers.

Is that overpowering from a nicotine perspective or just too much flavour? I?ve only really been smoking the JSK Red Knight Lanceros which I didn?t find overpowering but PeeJay had one from a new box recently acquired and he said it was stronger (both nicotine and spice) than the last lot.

I?ve read the Southern Draw Rose Of Sharon lancero fits what you?re looking for - it?s the very light wrapper with the pink band on the left of the picture.

I think it may well be part and parcel of a lancero with the ratio of wrapper to filler&binder that it?ll be more flavoursome and potentially a stronger nicotine effect? I?ll keep you posted when I get through these.

I don’t recall construction issues with the 2 but I’m far from the most experienced. I’ve had less luck with the 4 which I find tightly rolled quite often.

I’m sure they’ll be a fine addition Tom

Is it five 3 packs of tubos in a box of 15?
