My father in law had loads of whisky which he had collected but when he died no one wanted it so it was mostly given away.
I think people who collect also smoke aswell they just buy more than they smoke. For me It's not about getting through them all it's about having the choice of aged stock there when you do want a smoke. Plus with all my favourite smokes being slowly discontinued over the years it's nice to have some of those boxes around for the future.

Yes, I think the whole idea of ‘collecting’ is in itself a satisfying hobby - getting rare smokes, aged ones, trying to complete a Marcas Vitolas, etc. There is also something magical about sourcing a particular box, opening it up, and admiring the smokes! But as potpest has said, ultimately I wanted a larger collection that allowed me to age some stick whilst also permitting me to smoke 4 cigars a week. I also wanted a range of choices to fit with my oh so human/fickle mood/taste. I think if I do develop a serious collection over my life, then I would have to put plans in place to ensure they’re either bequeathed to someone who will smoke ‘em, or the family knows how to sell them!

Though i I am tempted to suggest I am cremetaed with all of my collection... my soul riding on the billows of Cuban twang!!

I have arranged someone to sell my boxes, he can have the 3 humi's of singles for his trouble. As for the cremation, I am sure the family would be happy enough to put a single in the box with you but more is surely a waste; especially as my daughter is to inherit the money raised from any boxes, I am unlucky enough to run out of time to smoke.
