• Impulse buy for holiday

Posted this on the wrong thread.

Problem with working near a cigar shop is one occasionally goes on impulse. So had a little emergency restock ready for holiday. Went for some non Cubans new to me and a few old friends.

Looking forward to the Olivas and Opus X.

    Any opinions?

The trinys (Reyes?) should be nice, especially if they have a few years on 'em. The Opus X can be a bit of "hit or miss," but should be tasty if a "hit." Never a big fan of the Oliva line, so no comment. The perfecto looking stick (A. Fuente, no?) should also be a nice smoke. Finally, I suspect you will enjoy the Robaina. I've enjoyed the few I've smoked.

All and all, your impulse purchase should pay off!

Trinidad are fantastic....love a good Reyes....again if you can hold of smoking them for 4 weeks I would but if you are going on holiday might be difficult

Reyes are very tasty smokes - though the past few i have had were a pain in the construction department !!

But yes, i echo Shamz advice, try and resist for as long as you can, and then enjoy those little fireworks

I also had a Oliva V Robusto last night - very nice smoke, so good choice there too!
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

            Off to Paxos. Tiny island.

I hope the Reyes are ready to go. Grabbed these from Boisdales as I'm based in the wharf at the moment. So should be...

The Reyes are always in.my humidor, but let them run out and my last order I got the wrong cigars [emoji31] (first world probs) I want to get hold of some fundadores actually but that's another story...

I've not had a VR for years. And the others are completely new to me. So will take notes.

Esp as I dare to try more non cubanos.

How queer! Just last night I was casually leafing through don TJ's journals and stumbled on an entry regarding non-pouros.

Quote: "During my travels, I have come across many, many unpuros - some good...some very, very good...others, not so much. It would be easy to get discouraged by the inferior ones, but I won't and will continue to seek out those 'diamonds in the rough'."

These sound like interesting journals. Is there a list of the preferred diamonds?

Maybe I should start my own journal... I think there's an app for that.

Very nice ha_banos. I had an order delivered a few days ago; my RASS had the same golden Seleccion Orchant band as your QdO. Any idea why that is? No problem for me, just curious as my last RASS from CGars definitely didn't have it...

Sounds similar to the EMS sticker to me :P

SmokeyMo specially went to H&F and picked out the best cigars! Cheers Mitch!

Forget it, just clicked on the link.

I hate it when some vendor puts a second band on cigars. the worst are those selection vintage bands. Thank you but I am able to discover the boxing date on my own, it's quite easy to turn the box around and read it.

In Robert Graham's most sticks aren't in their boxes. Have to rely on their labels.

                              My apologies for the rant.

Nice sticks by the way. That Boli RE looks pretty good.
