Dylans Newbie Humidor

As a newcomer to the cigar world I'm currently buying a few singles which you can see in the pic below. These are mainly cigars I have been recommended or have read about while trawling these forums.

The difficult thing as a newbie is everything is new so none of your cigars have any age at all! There is no way around this apart from having patience!

My next plan is to join in with the forum members with purchases of singles and splitting boxes etc. Obviously this will be when I'm at the stage of PM's being granted by Deano.

I plan a trip to Geneva in a few months as it's my wife's birthday at the end of April. The idea is a few days away and to stock up with a nice quantity of boxed cigars.

If you see any obvious amazing cigars I'm missing then please say. I'm keeping away from ones that take hours to smoke at the minute. Maybe I will move onto a few of those types when I'm more experienced!

Ah the good old days when you could see the bottom of the humidor!!

I'd recommend a couple of Romeo y Julieta, maybe No.3, No.2 and certainly Short Churchill. Their Exhibition No.4 is a nice smoke too.
Also add a couple of Punch, Petit Coronations/Coronations and Punch Punch - one of my favourites.

Great start but when you learn more about cigars you will want to try them all and you will out grow your humidor

thats a really good start....When you get round a buying some more look at the Monte 5 and Ramon Alones Small Club Coronas they are some great short smokes

The Monte 5 is my favourite smoke up to now. I have had a couple when I visited a cigar lounge in London. Will definitely be buying more soon.

Don't worry about getting aged cigars or anything just yet. By the time you're experienced enough to appreciate fully you'll either have some, or be able to get some from the trades section here!

I'm surprised that no one has yet suggested you visit Gesto when in Geneva, you'll be able to buy an box of aged cigars there at a price you'll be pleasantly surprised at.

That's exactly where I plan to go. I just Googled 'cigar shops Geneva' and Gesto looked like a great place to go, so it's good to see you recommend it.
