That makes sense, although I have read some people favour a V-cutter with a piramide; have you tried that?

No, I don't really see the point. I use my V cutter with a conventional cap like today's smoke.

        Ok, thanks, I'll try that.

Have just learned that the BBF, although by all accounts a fine cigar and one that I'm expecting great things of, will not be my first piramide as I thought - apparently it's a 'campana' vitola!
Since I've set this hare running, what would people who know recommend for a (genuine!) first piramide? Party P2, MC2, Diplomaticos 2?
(Starting to worry I'm taking all this a bit too seriously now - but what the hell!)

A beautiful full bodied monster of a cigar full of flavour. Enjoy

Montecristo no.2 is a fantastic cigar. The P2 is also very good. Vegas Robaina Unicos is worth seeking out. Bit of an unsung hero.

                a 'proper cigar'

Hi GrumpyBaldy. The HUpmann no.2 is also worth trying. The Diplomaticos no.2 fresh/ right now is said to be very good, mine are from a while ago and also good. Monte 2 is superb, especially with a few years.

There's a mini case/humidor that was released by Habanos which has 5 pirimide cigars in, well worth tracking down. It has the RyJ Belicosos Cohiba Pirimide, Monte, Partagas & Hoyo. I, like you and PeeJay am a massive fan of the format.

I'm starting to come around to agree with that. You have lots of control, and as Grumpy says, they look the business.

I regret I've yet to get my mitts on a BBF but I really like the Vegueros Mana?ita.

"Proper cigar" I know what you mean. It's a bit like coming of age like buying your first legal pint.

A much-delayed coming of (a rather advanced) age in my case!
