Haven't updated for a while. Hardly any Cuban purchases but I've bought some excellent NW stuff.
The Oliva range is particularly good:

I'm just back from Madrid last night. I visited 40+ Estancos and there was very, very slim pickings: some had only Monte 4s and empty boxes.

I bought all the of the new ERs I could find and everywhere was saying they're selling out within hours of them arriving.

Saddened to see the city picked bare. It would appear that the glory days of finding rarities in Spain are behind us

NB The Upmann No2 box has only 4 cigars in it

I think the seal has been trimmed so as not to engulf the tiny wee box and is definitely lighter than expected.

Very nice. Never heard of these but that isn't uncommon as a lot of the still existing marcas had cigars in their portfolio that aren't in the MRN book or on CCW. The box looks like it's from the late 50s/early 60s from what I can make out. Pretty weird that the warranty seal is missing a portion on the left and right edges. Also the seal looks like the one used from 1962 on due to the lighter shade of green.

Cor blimey. Either that box has a false bottom or someone's swiped em!

Wait till the future folk get a feel for today's prices!

Lovely wee pre-rev box of 5x Juan Lopez Tropicanas. Such a crisp, well-defined warranty seal. Still has what looks like a price sticker in old money: 22'6. Would that be the price for 5 cigars back in the 1950s? Seems quite expensive.

EDIT: After reading what Mike said about the pale colour of the seal, I'm thinking these might not be pre-rev after all

You can still get it Steve. I suppose it's just been overshadowed by Corona. The beer not the virus obviously!

Some nice Cuban artefacts there Stevie. I agree with you on the Sol bands, they are lovely. Will you have a Sol beer to go with it when you smoke one?
