So not exactly new to the jareador, it's been in there a few months since I returned from Mexico

A Rosario Churchill. Was pennies, maybe a pound or so.

A good looking stick, nice oily wrapper. Long filler. The prelight draw was delicious - leather and cedar, cocoa and nuttiness.
It lit very well, drew beautifully, with huge clouds of creamy white smoke. The ash was great, almost 3 inches, although the burn was a bit wonky at times. However it was like smoking charcoal off the BBQ. Horrible tasting, like burnt plastic and my tongue is totally numb now! Didn't make it passed half way!

Indeed, Mexico seems to be the capital of fakes. I found some decent ones at the reputable shops though.

There were lots of dreadful fakes when I was there, including the famous Cohiba boxes with Perspex lids!

i had high hopes for this stick though, it looked great.

Just arrived via the ever slow Royal Mail. Cost pennies from eBay.
more dried out than I had hoped, but currently in a jar with some crystals to hopefully begin the rehydration process....

Randomly the R&J is already (badly) cut....

It seems like a plan. Unsure how old these are - any clues in the packaging?
the chap said he had had them in a draw since Xmas, but they are definately considerably older than that.

Always best to dehydrate slowly as the wrappers may swell and split. Leave the cigars in the jar but with just a bit of damp kitchen roll. Check them often and make sure there's a digital hygrometer in with them. Try to get them to no more than 55RH for a week or so then very slowly increase the RH. It can take months to see results but it's a nice wee project. Bon chance!

Defo worth trying to salvage then. If they get somewhere near smoke able i will be happy for the couple of quid I paid.
