  • Advice?

    Hey Guys,

Any chance of a little advice? Ordered some new singles from C.Gars which arrived this afternoon. RASS, Petit Edmundo and RyJ Short Churchill.

An issue was the RASS, which is pictured below- can anyone offer advice on what the off white/green spots are? I fear I know the answer but don't wanna seem mad? I was a little let down as the RyJ was very misshapen- like a box press? I take it this isn't standard?

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers

It's quite hard to tell from photos. Try brushing the spots away gently with your finger. If it goes then it's just plume, if a white mark stays then it's mould.
Cgars are pretty good so should replace it if you send them an email.

Looks like mould tbh. Plume tends to be more of a uniform dusting as opposed to the breakout type appearance here. Spore related I'd say.

Thanks for the help! To aid the pictures, its almost 3D, lifted off the wrapper. I wanted to be sure as I am new to this. Whats the advice- not in the Humi and get it replaced? Cheers

Yea if it's left a mark when you picked it off then it's definitely mould.
Keep it to one side and send cgars an email with the pics. Think they usually just send a new one out to you, they will have no need for a mouldy stick coming back to them.

I would smoke it. Just needs a good brushing,

Just mold mate brush it off and away you go, by the way mold will brush off and leave no mark.

Normally I agree, but when you'e paying UK prices I would expect the vendor to send you a mould-less cigar (or at least brush the mould off before they send it)

Agreed, but..... A resolution requires waiting.

Wouldn't bother me. Brush off and smoke but send back by all means if it makes you happy.

I know they sorted it, but it now has me thinking about how they store their cigars and how the quality of what we order may nologer be as good as it could be.

Pfffff, no offence...... But given how much time and money Mitch has invested into cigars and the level of service he is willing to give should a problem be encountered.... I don't expect he would jeopardise his millions of pounds of investment into his core business product by keeping them in anything but optimal conditions.

Especially given how much he stands to make at EMS prices.

Mold as others have said. Wouldn't worry about it, brush off and enjoy the smokes

In my experence sometimes mould can just happen. Especially when cigars are put in airtight environments like plastic bags and then subjected to strong temperature swings, like a few days in the postal system.
