I recently visited 1A St James's Street (Dunhill of London) following a great first interview for a job and decided to treat myself and relax for an hour or so. Well! what an enjoyable experience! hopefully I will get the job and be in the area for regular visits.

Since I was in a Dunhill shop, I decided to try one of theirs as I never tried one yet, I also wanted to splash out and have a really good one so I chose Dunhill Aged Reserva Especial 2003. It looked pale, and being one of the older vintages in the line I thought may be the most mild (age = mildness??) as it was about 2:30pm. It was beautiful! smoked until the bands came off until I personally had enough rather than the cigar was finished, I reckon it could of burnt my lips and I still would of enjoyed it!

My Humidor is pretty Cuba-heavy (Cohiba Siglo VIs (23 of 25 left) and MC Edmundos (24 of 25 left) and although they are amazing cigars, I do feel I have splashed out a little too much and needed to vary my range so I purchased these ones to try. I presume this is how people build their collection over time to have a varied and full selection i.e. buying a few here and there? Any advice on collection building i'm all ears!

Photos of Humidor and new worlds below!

Keep an eye on the forum Krist as we do occasionally meet up there and you don't need PMs as we'll put it in open forum. Be good to meet up.

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit Krist, it where I head to when in London.

I also felt felt obliged to smoke a Dunhill whilst there and enjoyed it very much, it was a aged Valverde.

I would try singles first krist wether cubans or non cubans, different brands and guages then decide wether you want to buy boxes
or buy them in packs of 5 ..10.. deppending what amount they come in ,you might even prefer to buy a certain amount of singles
the above is what i would do myself other members might do things differently.

Hi Krist. Can I ask if those Montes and Cohibas are both from cabs. Just ask because in the photos they appear to have big differences in wrapper shades. Could just be the photo of course.

Are they the only 2 brands of cuban cigars you like going by the photo.

Highly unlikely. Very good chance that they just came in two boxes. Rarely do you see a Marca actually stand out in one's humidor.
And if they do, you'll have many more vitolas than just the one that OP has.

Yeah that would be good, I will be going there again and would be good to meet someone on the forum as well as just people who pop in.

It was an offer in the hotel in Cuba I was staying, I had a good year and had a bit of cash to splash out, I got them for about 60-70% of the UK retail price from what I can remember and thought it was too good an opportunity to pass up, maybe a little silly, but I'm glad I did now. I won't be buying anymore large boxes for a while, just singles to find a few that I really like then maybe invest at a later date. I'm also going to lay 15 of each down for a good few years to really enhance them.

They're from two boxes, It actually looks a lot worse in the photos than in real life, I just had to double check. There are differences in the wrapper shades though, I was told it wasn't an issue from the seller and from someone else in a shop in Edinburgh and that that can happen, I've smoked one from both ends of the spectrum and both taste similar and very nice.
