  • A surprise gift.

My wife's friend has just had a short break in Miami, and while shopping she stumbled upon a cigar store
so she decided to grab me a surprise gift because she new I was starting with cigars. She described the
place as a really smart shop with large amounts of stock on display. What are the chances of these sticks
being genuine? I have not said anything to her about the risk of fakes. Didn't want to sound ungrateful.
Going by the measurements in my UK Havana Cigar Portfolio magazine, they are 3 Cohiba Esplendido and
    2 Bolivar Corona Gigante.

If you need any more photos, just let me know.

Thanks for any wisdom you can share.

I would only question the fact that you can't but Cubans in the US yet

That was my initial though, but searching on the net suggests that they are readily available under counter so to speak.

May come to coat then, under the counter suggests you may pay a premium also if you were the store owner you may sell under the counter prohibited goods to well known and trusted punters but certainly not to a complete stranger

I would expect them to be fakes if I am honest, I just though I would ask here to confirm my suspicions.

Even if they're fake they look smokeable

Thanks Pete. I will be wary. If there is any doubt when I try them, they will go straight in the bin.
