They are called Lost and Founds, small batches of cigars that have allegedly been found and are sold like this. The oldest of these is dated 2014, the other two 2017. They will be unbanded inside the packets. The Americans seem to love them. Essentially they are just small batch cigars but all the ones I've had so far have been good. They generally have stupid names like the Scooby Snax ones. I smoked one the other day but you probably didn't notice as a single.

Does small batch here mean expensive or good value? Could go either way

Not necessarily, obviously L+F are an outlier as Caldwell and Bellato, literally just buy cigars from factories that were most likely test blends or unfulfilled orders. They do some good work from this, last year the release Care Bear style packaged cigars called Chance, with proceeds buying toys and the like for kids.

Theres some discussion about the quality of cigars they buy and obviously cynicism towards the cigars they put out with a fancy branding (similar to Ezra but they're blended to order) been word of camacho overstock, lots from La Zona and others.

The boutiques I have range from between $7-$12.
